Our office remains open for patient care during the current Covid-19 situation. We are adhering to CDC guidelines and monitoring the situation as it evolves. Currently the CDC recommends avoiding large social gatherings of 50 or more people. Social distancing is encouraged as well although this does not mean isolation or quarantine. Healthcare providers are actually being encouraged to remain open during this time.
We have taken extra precautions to maintain the safety of our patients and staff. We have increased our cleaning/sanitizing procedures beyond the typical universal precautions we have always taken on a daily basis. We are limiting the number of people in the waiting room area by strongly encouraging patients to complete their paperwork prior to arrival to the office (forms available on the website for both new and established patients) as well as uploading their insurance card information to the zocdoc website or calling the office the day before their appointment to allow our staff time to verify insurance coverage before patient arrival. Patients can complete paperwork in the exam rooms if the waiting area becomes over crowded. If you feel more comfortable waiting in the hallway or the car after you have checked in, we will call or text you when it is time for you to be seen.
We encourage those patients who are sick, have a known exposure or who are in a high risk population to reschedule their appointments to a later time. Otherwise, the measures we have taken should pose minimal to no risk to patients to keep scheduled appointments. Keep in mind that a gynecology office does not see sick patients such as a primary care doctor, urgent care or emergency room would.
If we don’t shake your hand, don’t be offended…. we will offer a friendly smile instead!
